In front of a
full Church, Sister Sarah Rayah, Carmelite,
professed her love to the most handsome of all men, Jesus Christ
himself! Archbishop Charles Scicluna
presided and gave a very insightful homily. A good number of Discalced
Carmelite priests and local priests concelebrated.
On December 9th,
in Saint Teresa’s Church, Cospicua, Sister Sarah made her religious profession
of the vows of Chastity, Poverty and Obedience. She was radiant!
Her parents and other relatives travelled from far-away Guam to be present for
this occasion. Others travelled from the States, mainly from Morristown NJ.
Sister Sarah was
born and grew up in Guam, USA in the Pacific Ocean. She joined Carmel ten years
ago and now has finished her time of formation. She will be wearing a black
veil instead of a white veil.
She will be part
of the new Carmelite community that is being formed in Malta. At the moment
this new religious community are living
their life of penance and prayer at a residence at Tal-Virtu, Rabat.
