Between August 20th and 25th, a meeting of all Carmelite students from Europe is being held at the Domus Carmeli in Fatima. This event, held every three years, brings together all the students and their formators of the Order of Discalced Carmelites (OCD) in order to get to know each other better and reflect together our charism in the world of today
The choice of Fatima is related to the desire of these young Carmelites to know better the message of Fatima and to deepen the Marian dimension of the Teresian Carmel which has as Mother and Patroness Our Lady of Carmel.
The program, planned by the European Conference of Provincials OCD, include moments of prayer, reflection and being together.
Fr. Savério Cannistrà, Father General of the OCD will be present and will interact with the 87 participants on the future of the Order in Europe. The students hail from France [11], Polamd [3], Croatia [7], Italy [23], Spain [3], Austria [1], Lebanon [1], Egypt [4], Malta [1].
Our students will also have the opportunity to fraternize with their Sisters of the Carmelites of Fatima and Coimbra, as well as visiting the former Desert of the Discalced Carmelites in Portugal, the present National Forest of Buçaco.
Father Juan Debono, our provincial, is one of the main organizers of this event.
